In a narrow bipartisan vote, Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed to the US Supreme court. The confirmation vote itself was even bitter to the end, with several pro-abortion protesters interrupting the roll call vote several times until they were removed by the Capitol Hill Police. Most court observers agree that this marks a fundamental shift in the Supreme Court towards the pro-life position. Mr. Kavanaugh replaces ‘swing vote’ Anthony Kennedy, who was conservative on many issues but provided a liberal vote on abortion decisions.
